naked (2023-now)

We all have a body. But inside that body is also our inner self; a vessel full of contradictory and at the same time logical thoughts, emotions, feelings and moods.

Underneath it we also experience something else, something deeper, but what is that? What is that core, our soul? The bizarre thing is that it is connected to our body; it cannot exist without the body, we experience it as something very personal and essential, but at the same time it has no form or color; we cannot hold it, it is not an organ.

Yet through our skin something of that innermost seeps out, in the way we look out of our eyes, in facial expressions, posture, our body language. I look for that center and how it expresses itself through our bodies.

Just as the soul does not just show itself, no answer will be found, but for me it is about the quest.

In the book “Discovering the world” of Clarice Lispector (1920-77) I’ve found a great source of inspiration. Her work is described as “moving, deeply philosophical, enigmatic and emotional”. Her texts feel like a homecoming in an inner world full of recognition.
